  ""yeasty"" flavor
Posted by: yahoo - 08-10-2004, 07:21 AM - Forum: Archives - Replies (1)

My first beverage just finished fermenting. I got impatient dringclarification and drank some as soon as it was cold. it tasted goodbut I noticed the distinct flavor of the yeast. My question isBig Grinoes this go away after clarification or will all of mine have thisflavor? If so i can live with it I'd just rather not have thatyeasty taste.ORGINAL POSTER: therockinc

I use a starter when I'm making 5 gallon batches but have neverfound a need to using the 2-liter EZ Cap method. Of course using a starterwont HURT anything and it may decrease brewing time.At 03:34 AM 8/9/2004 +0000, you wrote:>I was just curious if anyone else starts their yeast before pitching>it into their juice.   Re: [E-Z-Caps] Question about recipes?
Posted by: yahoo - 08-08-2004, 07:08 AM - Forum: Archives - Replies (1)

The 'dose' method was an archaic measuring system that is nolonger used. Go by the instructions that came with the EZ Cap kit. Youcan never add too much yeast. The more yeast you add, the quickerfermentation will begin. You could add the whole bottle but it wouldn't bevery cost effective. At 01:13 AM 8/9/2004 +0000, you wrote:>I just started using EZ Caps a few days ago.
