melomel - dopplebock - 03-08-2010 got two fruit meads (melomel) going now. one gallon and 2 liter batches. strawberry mead and clementine mead. these will take a few months and i think they'll turn out great! one gallon: 3 lbs clover honey 2 lbs frozen (are best!) strawberries cuvee yeast spring water stabilizers. Re: melomel - dopplebock - 03-12-2010 here's the mead roughly 78 hr's after fermintation took off. will add strawberries in secondary. it may not look like it's doing much from this small image but i had recently stirred it to sink some foam. it's actually bubbling like mad! closeup of fermentation, dark things are raisins. also have a 2 liter batch going: will add ez cap after 7 days to make sparkling mead. this one will be clementine mead.
