Preservatives - Iname - 03-21-2013 Cn anyone share experience using blueberry or something that contains elements like benzoat ( or preservetives) My experience: Bought juice without checking first, when all set in a batch the fermentation just wont start. When I checked, there is benzoate. The other batch using blueberry isn't starting too. Does anyone have some experience like me? If yes, is there any way to fix it? Best way to overpower preservatives is to re-use the yeast from a previous fermentation. Re: Preservatives - Iname - 03-23-2013 Day 4, one of my batch showing sign fermentation, the other still no reaction. Here is my experiment: 1 L grape juice ( mistake) with benzoate 1 L blueberry juice without benzoate 1/8 tea spoon of yeast Reaction at day (not yet) 1 L grape juice ( mistake) with benzoate 1 L grape juice ( mistake) with benzoate 1/8 tea spoon of yeast Reaction at day 4 Re: Preservatives - ezcaps_phpbb3_import2 - 03-23-2013 Iname Wrote:Day 4, one of my batch showing sign fermentation, the other still no reaction. Try adding some of the fermenting juice to the non fermenting juice. |
