I used some 100% blueberry juice and left it for 7 days..it is awesome!...Wallmart has a great deal on 100% juice $3 for 2 liters...I am trying the white grape and peach and others... it really works great...I even made a consecutive batch of regular grape without adding yeast and it came out great. Be sure and disolve the sugar really good before adding yeast...I found the FAQ's helpfull....have fun...Bernie--- On Thu, 4/23/09, Robin wrote: From: Robin Subject: [E-Z-Caps] Looking for more recipes To: E-Z-Caps@yahoogroups.com Date: Thursday, April 23, 2009, 6:44 PM I'm surprised there's not a ton of recipes from people here that have/are using e-z-caps. Surely some of you have come up with some great combinations other than the included 2-3. What about tweaking the standard grape recipe? Has anyone found something to make it better? I'm only 3 days into my first batch and so far it tastes just like carbonated juice, not 'wine' taste or body at all. I know it's still a little early though.ORGINAL POSTER: bernie

I am new to e-z-caps too. I just have a batch that is only 3 days old. Ittastes good so far, but still tastes just like juice only.Have you started yet?Why would you want it to sit in a warm room for a month? I can't think of anyjuice/wine that's good at room temp. especially a sparkling wine.--- "beecool03" wrote:>> Hey Im new to ez caps I was wondering can anyone help me get some questionsanswered.>> How does the beverage taste after your finished?> What would happen if I took the beverage out the fridge after it hasclarified? and I wanted it to sit around my room for a month?>> I have more questions..>> if you have anymore advice can you please help me learned the new ez cap wayof wine making and beer>ORGINAL POSTER: robin

Just Got Back Into Brewing |

Hey everyone! I just purchased a new set of ezcaps and got back into brewingafter not brewing for at least a year. I brewed an excellent ginger beer and agood strawberry champagne. I still think the peach grape juice makes the bestsparkling wine. (I recently used a store brand and it was as good as welches).I am experimenting with a cherry flavor and an alcoholic Ginger Beer.I also got back into brewing Birch Beer, but I don't need ezcaps for that. Ihave tried all different brands of root beer, sarsaparilla, and birch beer andbelieve it or not the common Rainbow Flavors Birch Beer is the best hands down.I was Brewing so many root beer varieties that I blew all of the seals on mygrowlers. I couldn't get anything to ferment and this is why I stopped brewingfor a while. (I'm back to plastic bottles for soda. I know when its done thisway as well).I'm also getting back into brewing beer. I am no longer using ezcaps for beerthough, because it is so much work for 2 liters of beer at a time. The ezcapsare good for the starter though. I am focussing on Heffeweisens. I have hadsome great luck with a coffee stout that was very hoppy using ezcaps in thepast. I loved it, but most people didn't like the hoppiness. I like the hops,so more beer for me! Beer enthusiasts would have loved it. Search back in theposts for my beer recipes and results.I just bought 6 acres in upstate (western) NY and I am growing my own hops. Ihave them started indoors for now. I am growing 8 Willamet plants (I got 8 for$10 on ebay. What a deal!), 2 Columbus, 1 Hallertau, 1 Tettnang and 1 Cascade. To my surprise all of them are growing. I hope the frost ends soon so I can getthem outside. I will have some good beer for Oktoberfest!I am starting to reuse my yeast. I wonder how many successful reuses of ezcapyeast people have had? My biggest reason for reusing yeast is for theHeffeweisen. A special yeast that is hard to come by up here is needed and itis where most of the flavor of a heffeweisen comes from. I know I can buy itonline, but I end up paying at least twice as much with shipping. I was veryspoiled living on Long Island for years and having anything I wantedimmediately.ORGINAL POSTER: eezzcap

Yes, you can start drinking it. Expect a champaign-like texture because of thebubbles. You may choose to pour it off into another 2-liter bottle and put yourEZ cap back on (racking) to remove your beverage from the sediment. Thesediment won't hurt you, but it isnt very tasty.--- borrego76@... wrote:>> Thanks for the information.>> So I can start drinking this then?> Can I pour off everything except the sediment in the bottom into another> container?
